When will Eid-ul-Adha 2026 be in Pakistan? Possible date and moon conditions

Islamabad: New scientific details have emerged regarding the possible date of Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan, according to which this year Eid is likely to be celebrated on May 27. This estimate has been made keeping in mind the birth of the moon, its age and the possible conditions of sighting.

According to experts, the moon of Zil-Hijjah will be born on the night between May 16 and 17, after which it may be possible to see it in different parts of the country on the evening of May 17. At that time, the age of the moon will be sufficient, which is generally considered suitable for seeing with the naked eye.

If the weather remains clear and there is no dust or clouds in the atmosphere, the chances of seeing the moon will increase further. In such a case, the first of Dhul-Hijjah will be on May 18, while Eid-ul-Adha can be celebrated on May 27.

On the other hand, if the weather is bad or the moon is not sighted, then 30 days of the lunar month will be completed, as a result of which Eid can be celebrated one day later.

In Pakistan, the final announcement of Eid-ul-Adha is made every year after the moon is sighted; however, scientific estimates usually help in advance preparations, especially with regard to sacrifice, travel plans and business activities.
