Chakwal: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the second phase (Phase 2) of Honhar Scholarship and Laptop Scheme at Chakwal University amidst a grand welcome from the students. The students gave a standing ovation at the ceremony and showed their enthusiasm for the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister himself sat among the students and spoke to them in a friendly manner.
Distribution of Laptops and Scholarships
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister distributed cheques and laptops among the students. On this occasion, the students thanked her and called her a “mother-like personality”.
An emotional moment came when a special student rendered the tune of the national anthem on the piano, for which the Chief Minister awarded her a special prize. In addition, student Areeba Akhtar and student Ammar Khalid expressed their emotional impressions regarding the laptop scheme and the Honhar Scholarship.
A documentary film on the evolution of the scheme was also shown in the ceremony and a colorful contingent of police presented a guard of honor to the students. Maryam Nawaz also praised Deputy Commissioner Chakwal Sarah Hayat and called her a role model for girls.
Scope of the scheme: 33,000 more laptops in Phase 2
During the briefing, the Chief Minister was informed about the details of the scheme:
Phase One: In the first phase, Core i7 13th generation laptops have been distributed to 40,000 students.
Phase Two: In the second phase, laptops will be distributed to 33,311 more students.
This scheme of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is playing a key role in providing modern educational opportunities to the talented students of Punjab and preparing them according to the requirements of the digital age.
