Thunderstorm alert in South Punjab, NDMA sounds alarm

Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned the people of South Punjab of heavy rains for the next 24 to 48 hours. According to an alert, there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in the area.

The NDMA has issued a list of areas where the weather conditions may become more severe. These include Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Ahmedpur Sharqia, Liaquatpur, Zahir Pir, Rajanpur, Khanpur, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan and Sadiqabad.

The authority has also warned that heavy rains may lead to flooding in hilly areas and rivers and there is also a risk of landslides. The public has been appealed to take precautionary measures.
