Thunderstorm alert in Punjab, district administration directed to remain on high alert

Lahore: The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has predicted that heavy rains and stormy winds are expected in most districts of Punjab from October 5 to 7. Due to these rains, the flow of water in rivers and streams may increase.

DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia has directed the district administration, including commissioners and deputy commissioners, to remain on high alert immediately. He said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, all departments are on alert so that immediate steps can be taken in any emergency situation.

He advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel during bad weather, not to go to open places during thunderstorms and wind and contact helpline 1129 in case of any emergency.
