The Jamaat-e-Islami party has called for a nationwide protest against high electricity bills.

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has called for a nationwide protest on January 17 to show how upset people are about how high their power bills keep getting. At a news meeting in Mansoorah, JI Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman was angry that the government wasn’t doing anything to lower energy prices.

Hafiz Naeem said this about the government: “The rulers fail to explain how much, if any, reduction has been made in the prices of essential commodities.” He also said that the country’s finances are getting worse very quickly, which was meant to emphasise how the economy is getting worse.

The news shows that people are getting more and more angry about rising living costs. Hafiz Naeem talked about both local problems and the humanitarian situation in Palestine, which he called a “grave tragedy” that needed attention from all over the world.

The protest is meant to put pressure on the government to deal with these important problems, especially the rising cost of energy.
