Lahore: The Punjab government has imposed new restrictions on the use of social media for government employees. Now no government officer or employee will be able to share personal or official statements and videos on TikTok, Facebook or YouTube.

The notification issued in this regard has clarified that all employees should limit their online activities and not upload any content that may raise questions about government policies or the reputation of institutions. It has also been directed that government officials should refrain from making direct statements or providing information to the media.

Sources say that this step was taken to maintain discipline in government institutions and prevent problems arising due to irresponsible statements by employees. According to government officials, employees should only focus on their professional duties, as misuse of social media can affect the transparency and efficiency of institutions.

The Punjab government has strictly warned that if any employee violates these instructions, strict action will be taken against him. Officials say the decision is aimed not only at protecting institutions from becoming controversial but also at preventing employees from making unnecessary comments to further strengthen confidence in government policies.
