Project Of Bullet Train Has Been Approved in Punjab

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given in-principle approval to the Lahore-Rawalpindi bullet train project, under which the travel time between the two cities will be limited to about two hours and twenty minutes.
The project will be completed in collaboration with Pakistan Railways, and a public-private partnership model is also being considered. The chief minister has entrusted senior minister Marriyum Aurangzeb with the responsibility of liaisoning with Pakistan Railways.

In the meeting, the chief minister was informed that the bullet train project will reduce the travel time between Lahore and Rawalpindi to two hours and twenty minutes, which is a significant reduction from the current duration.

The Chief Minister has also directed to plan for six more high-speed train routes in the province, including Lahore-Shahdara-Narowal, Lahore-Raywind-Kasur-Pakpattan-Lodhran, Sheikhupura-Judanwala-Shorkot-Jhang-Sargodha, Lala Musa-Sargodha via Mandi Bahauddin, and Faisalabad-Chak Jhumra-Shaheenabad.

This project is an important step towards modernization of the transport system in Punjab, which will not only reduce the travel time but will also provide ease of living to the people. It will also boost economic growth and regional connectivity.
