ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the government is promoting investment and trade simultaneously to give a new direction to Pakistan’s economy. He said that building the country’s economy on a strong foundation is the government’s top priority.
He said this at a high-level meeting held in Islamabad, which was also attended by Army Chief General Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. The meeting discussed the overall economic situation, ongoing and new development projects and the prospects of foreign direct investment.
The Prime Minister said that recent economic trends are evidence of investor confidence. He assured that all possible facilities will be provided to international investors, so that Pakistan can be made a hub for investment and business in the region.
Economic experts believe that if the government’s ongoing reform policies are continued, not only will employment opportunities increase but exports and the overall economy will also get a solid foundation.
