Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Unveils Comprehensive Strategy to Boost Exports to $60 Billion in Five Years

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered officials to create a detailed strategy that will elevate Pakistani exports to $60 billion during the following five years. During a high-level review session about national export measures, the Prime Minister stressed that the country required lasting reforms for its tariff system, which should both boost industrial development and provide simplified processes.

PM Shehbaz issued orders to his economic team about lowering rates, system simplification, and industrial reform implementation for productivity enhancement during their meeting. The prime minister stressed that export development should focus on three main sectors, which include services along with IT and agriculture.

The Prime Minister declared export-led economic growth as the essential pillar of “Uraan Pakistan” while discussing the national agenda. He demanded essential changes to the governance system of the Export Development Fund, which must serve export-orientated industries.

The meeting received a presentation that described how Pakistan will reach its $60 billion export goal, which involves lowering tariffs during the previous two years. Stakeholders currently review the 2025-30 Strategic Trade Policy Framework as officials finalise the e-commerce policy to present to the cabinet for approval during the next month.

The National Compliance Centre serves as an entity to synchronise Pakistani products according to international industrial standards. The centre will undertake two major functions that include developing export industry capacity and creating training programs to strengthen competitiveness in world markets.

The government demonstrates its dedication to economic development through sustainable export expansion with this comprehensive initiative.
