Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, reports have emerged of progress on an interim peace framework between the parties, which is said to be aimed at an immediate ceasefire and de-escalation of the Strait of Hormuz crisis.

According to the British news agency, the plan under consideration will consist of a limited-term memorandum of understanding rather than a full and final peace agreement, which reflects that the two sides still have serious differences on several fundamental and controversial issues.

According to the report, the proposed framework has been divided into three phases. In the first phase, a formal ceasefire and an end to military operations will be announced, while in the second phase, steps will be taken to resolve the crisis related to the Strait of Hormuz so that global maritime trade and oil shipments can be restored.

The third phase will begin with a 30-day negotiation period, during which a broader and longer-term agreement will be negotiated.

According to diplomatic sources, this phase is considered important for future lasting peace.

Experts say that although this framework is not a complete peace agreement, even a partial agreement can have a positive impact on global energy markets and the situation in the region, especially the restoration of the Strait of Hormuz is considered extremely important for global trade.
