Islamabad: At a seminar organized on the occasion of the death anniversary of Khawaja Rafique Shaheed, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Rana Sanaullah highlighted the political chaos and threats to national security in the country.
According to Senator Rana Sanaullah, the attack in Islamabad on May 25, 2022, was a turning point that influenced the formation of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government. “If this attack had not happened, the political scenario would have been different,” he said.
Terming the incident of May 9, 2022 as a conspiracy, he said that political instability arises when parties refuse to talk. He also described the criticism of the February 2024 elections as politically motivated.
Referring to the Jafar Express incident, Rana Sanaullah said that external elements, especially Afghanistan and India, are behind terrorism.
Rana Sanaullah stressed that the rallies of peacekeeping parties are not stopped, while restrictions are imposed on suspicious parties. “Political stability and economic development go hand in hand, so all parties should prioritize constructive dialogue,” he said.
He added that identifying obstacles is essential. “For political and economic stability, it is important that we know who is hindering development and remove them.”
