PM Shehbaz Vows to Shield Public from Inflation; Announces Top-Down Austerity Drive

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has categorically stated that the government will not increase prices, aiming to minimize the financial burden on the common man despite a volatile global economic climate.

Reaffirming his commitment to public welfare, the Prime Minister emphasized that his administration is dedicated to providing maximum relief to the masses. “In these challenging times, we are fulfilling our promise to protect the citizens from the impact of global inflation,” the PM stated during a high-level briefing.

Starting from the Top In a significant move toward fiscal responsibility, PM Shehbaz revealed that the national austerity campaign would begin with the government and the elite. He noted that the federal government’s belt-tightening measures are being actively supported by provincial administrations, creating a unified front against economic instability.

Strategic Policy Making Addressing the “Khidmat-e-Pakistan” (Service to Pakistan) vision, the PM highlighted that timely policy interventions and strict financial discipline are being used as shields against international market pressures. He noted that while regional tensions have put the global economy under stress, Pakistan is navigating these waters through “humanly possible” efforts and prudent management.
