Pakistan and China Call for Immediate Ceasefire; Urge Respect for Iranian and Gulf Sovereignty

ISLAMABAD – In a significant diplomatic move, Pakistan and China have issued a joint call for an immediate ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities in the region. The demand came following high-level consultations between Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Chinese counterpart in Beijing, where both nations reviewed the escalating security situation.

According to a spokesperson for the Foreign Office (FO), both strategic partners emphasized that “dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable paths” to resolving current conflicts. A major highlight of the discussion was the shared insistence on protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran and the Gulf States. Both countries urged all involved parties to initiate peace talks immediately and strictly avoid the use or threat of force.

The joint statement also underscored the need for the supremacy of the UN Charter and international law to maintain global order. Pakistan and China warned that the spillover of conflict could have catastrophic consequences for regional stability, calling on the international community to facilitate unhindered humanitarian access to war-torn areas.
