On the other hand, stability has been seen in the prices of some vegetables such as brinjal, okra and capsicum. The change in the price of potatoes and onions is being attributed to fluctuations in supply and demand.

According to the list of fruits, apples will be sold at Rs 200 to 580 per kg depending on the variety, while pomegranate seeds will be sold at Rs 440 per kg. Bananas have been set at Rs 135 to 150, depending on their quality.

Chicken prices were also issued, according to which the official rate per kg of live chicken has been set at Rs 275 and the price of meat at Rs 439. A dozen eggs will be sold at Rs 331.

The administration clarified that the display of official price lists in the markets and their practical implementation will be ensured. Action will be taken against shopkeepers who charge more than the prices and citizens can file complaints on 0800-02345.

District officials say that teams are taking daily action to eliminate overselling, and with the cooperation of citizens, moderation can be maintained in the market.
