National Assembly approves federal budget for next fiscal year and approves finance bill clause-by-clause

Islamabad: The National Assembly has approved the federal budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, in which the approval of the finance bill clause-by-clause has been completed.

During the National Assembly session, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed happiness while announcing support for the government in the budget. He said,

“The government accepted our demands; that is why we supported the budget.”

Bilawal Bhutto said:

  • The government increased the Benazir Income Support Program by 20 percent.
  • Reservations related to solar panels were also removed.
  • There was a consensus on providing relief to the poor in the budget.

Earlier, the federal cabinet had approved the finance bill with amendments.
