Islamabad: News of some relief has come to light for consumers using LPG in the country, where the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a minor reduction in prices for the month of May.

According to the OGRA notification, the price of LPG per kg has been reduced by 31 paise, after which the new price has been fixed at Rs 303.81. Similarly, the price of an 11.8 kg cylinder for domestic use has been reduced by Rs 3.69, after which its new price has become Rs 3,584.90.

According to officials, these new prices will be effective from May 1 and will remain in effect for the entire month.

LPG is widely used across the country for domestic use, small businesses and commercial purposes, especially in areas where natural gas is not available or the problem of low pressure persists.

Experts say that although the price reduction is minor, it will provide some relief to LPG consumers. However, in the context of current inflation, this reduction is not considered sufficient to make a significant difference in household expenses.
