JUI (F)’s divisive stance on 27th constitutional amendment, Maulana Fazlur Rehman issues clear instructions to the party

Islamabad: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) has presented its position categorically on the constitutional amendment being discussed in the National Assembly. Party Ameer and parliamentary leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has issued instructions to the members of the assembly to vote against the amendment.

He said that JUI-F has decided to oppose the amendment after carefully examining all aspects in the parliamentary session. Maulana Fazlur Rehman took the stand that “constitutional amendments should be approved with national consensus rather than temporary political interests.”

According to analysts, differences on constitutional issues could further complicate the upcoming political scenario.
