Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi calls for Emirati policy review

Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United Arab Emirates of failing to condemn attacks against Iran and being directly involved in anti-Iran activities during the recent regional tensions.

According to Iranian media reports, Abbas Araqchi said that he had previously avoided mentioning the UAE by name in view of regional solidarity, but due to the current situation, Tehran is now openly questioning the role of the Emirates.

The Iranian foreign minister said that when the attacks on Iran began, the UAE did not even condemn them. He said that Abu Dhabi should review its policy towards Iran and adopt a more balanced diplomatic approach.

This statement has come at a time when tensions in the region and renewed discussions on diplomatic relations are underway.

On the other hand, Anwar Gargash, an adviser to the UAE presidency, has said that the Emirates has never wanted war and has always made sincere efforts for peace in the region.

He said that stability in the Gulf is possible only through negotiations and a political solution and that relations between Arab countries and Iran cannot be run on the basis of confrontation.

According to experts, these statements reflect the ongoing diplomatic tensions between the two countries and the sensitive situation of the balance of power in the region.
