Inquiry committee found no evidence of suicide, report to be presented to IG today

Islamabad: According to informed sources, the three-member investigation committee regarding the death of SP Adeel Akbar has completed its report. The committee headed by DIG Haroon Joya also included DIG Atiq Tahir and DIG Jawad Tariq.

According to police sources, the committee did not find any evidence of suicide, while the post-mortem report revealed that SP Adeel Akbar died due to a bullet wound to the face.

The investigation team recorded the statements of the SP driver, wireless operator and other staff, and also took the opinion of a psychologist, who said that SP Adeel Akbar had contacted his doctor twice.

According to sources, the committee will submit its complete report today to IG Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi, who will forward it to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi along with his recommendations.

This report has come as a clarification to several rumors in this important matter, which was under discussion for the past several days.
