Historic Pakistan-Afghanistan Security Agreement

Islamabad: Minister of State Talal Chaudhry announced that Pakistan and Afghanistan have signed a historic, written Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on security, the first of its kind.

The agreement reaffirms Pakistan’s long-standing principled position, which the minister noted was a “great achievement” that has now been documented in writing.

Detailed talks, including finalizing the joint security mechanism, are scheduled for November 6.

Talal Chaudhry also stressed that Afghanistan’s past use as a proxy for India is a verifiable fact, citing the TTP’s past declaration of hostility against Kabul following the ceasefire. The minister concluded that the written pledge, which was signed with two mediators present, offers new hope for regional peace and stability.
