Islamabad: To stop the rise in sugar prices across the country, the Ministry of Food Security has announced it will immediately import sugar. According to the statement, this sugar is being imported only through the government sector to bring stability to the market.
According to the statement, a better and more transparent strategy has been adopted for the import of sugar. This step by the government has come at a time when the prices of sugar in the market were continuously increasing and there was concern among the public.
It was further said that when the export of sugar was allowed, its availability in the country was satisfactory. However, now it has become necessary to import sugar to control prices and meet demand.
Relevant sources say that with the arrival of new consignments of sugar in the market in the coming days, prices will come down and supply will improve.
