Gas crisis intensifies; RLNG supply drops from 1200 to 700 million cubic feet

Islamabad: The energy crisis in the country has become more serious, as a significant reduction in RLNG supply has been recorded.

According to sources at Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, the daily supply of RLNG has come down to 700 million cubic feet, which was around 1200 million cubic feet in the past.

Sources said that the gas shortfall has increased to more than 600 million cubic feet, due to which the supply of gas to various sectors is being affected.

According to reports, the supply of gas to the power sector and the fertiliser industry has reached its lowest level, while limited supply is also being given to domestic consumers.

However, Sui Gas officials say that efforts are being made to ensure the supply of gas to domestic consumers during all three meal times.

According to experts, if this situation continues, further pressure may increase on both industrial production and power generation.
