Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that the process of filing income tax returns for the tax year 2026 will start from Monday, July 27, 2026. The agency has directed all taxpayers to submit their returns in a timely manner and with accurate information.
A statement issued by the FBR said that while filing returns, all financial information, income, assets and other relevant details should be factual and complete. According to the agency, providing accurate and transparent information not only helps in fulfilling legal requirements but also further strengthens the national tax system.
The statement urged taxpayers to submit their returns on time instead of waiting for the deadline to avoid technical issues or unnecessary delays. The FBR says that timely and honest tax payment plays an important role in the stability of the country’s economy and the improvement of public services.
According to experts, timely submission of income tax returns also makes it easier for taxpayers to benefit from various legal and financial facilities, while providing accurate information is the legal responsibility of every citizen.
