DIG Motorways meets transporters, ban on buses without dash cameras and warns of strict action

Islamabad: DIG Motorways Central Zone Syed Farid Ali, while meeting with transporter owners, issued comprehensive instructions for the safety of highways and said that now no bus will be able to enter the motorway or national highway without a dash camera.

According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, the DIG said that all transport companies should provide access to the dash cam and tracker system to the Motorway Police so that immediate action can be taken in case of any accident, traffic violation or emergency.

He directed that the fitness report of the vehicles should be clearly pasted on the glass, while all the fog lights should be in proper condition before the foggy season. The DIG clarified that pick and drop of passengers at any place other than the bus stop is strictly prohibited.

Syed Farid Ali said that the use of illegal CNG cylinders in small vehicles is completely prohibited, heavy fines and legal action will be taken for its violation. He instructed the bus staff to treat the passengers with courtesy, while immediate action will be taken in case of any complaint.

According to the spokesperson, the DIG Motorways listened to the problems of the transporters on this occasion and issued orders for their immediate resolution so that better and safer travel facilities can be provided to the public.
