Anti-drone gun presented at Pakistan Navy exhibition, effective for border and event security

Karachi: The anti-drone “Safra Jammer Gun” developed by the National Electronics Complex (NEC) has officially started field trials and has maintained its ability to disable kamikaze-style drones. According to the performance of the gun presented at the exhibition, the device can target drones and their remote controls at a distance of up to one and a half kilometers (1.5 km) and either take control of them or completely disable them and bring them to the ground.

When the jammer gun was introduced at the Pakistan Navy’s Pymech exhibition held at the Karachi Expo Center, Hamza Khalid, manager of its manufacturing company, said that the device is effective up to one and a half kilometers at a 30-degree angle and this angle can be changed as needed.  He said that commercial drones coming within this range are controlled and made to land or their signals are turned off.

Hamza Khalid further clarified that this gun can be installed to protect national borders and its use will also be effective in large urban events. He also said that if there are multiple hostile drone attacks from across the border, this system is capable of targeting and disabling them simultaneously.

According to analysts, this domestically developed anti-drone technology is an important step in the security sector, especially for areas and events where drones can pose security risks.
