Faisalabad: A model Sahulat Bazaar has been launched in Jaranwala to provide food items to the public at reasonable prices. The inauguration was done by Punjab Sahulat Bazaar Authority Chairman Muhammad Afzal Khokhar, while the ceremony was also attended by citizens and local elected representatives.

Bilal Badar Chaudhry, Sardar Khan Bahadur Dogar and AC Jaranwala Rangzeb Goraya were also present at the ceremony. The chairman said that such markets are being established in every district on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz so that the people affected by inflation can get direct cheap relief.

Flour, sugar, meat, vegetables and fruits are available in the market at official rates, and all items have been kept in ample quantities so that no artificial crisis arises.

MNA Bilal Badar Chaudhry said that the Sahulat Bazaar is a big relief for the people and called it a “special gift from the Chief Minister of Punjab”.

MPA Sardar Khan Bahadur Dogar termed the project as a welfare model and said that it will soon be expanded to other areas.
According to Assistant Commissioner Rangzeb Goraya, 70 shops have been set up in the market, which will meet the needs of more than 2 million people. Shopkeepers will have to pay only Rs 10,000 per month for rent, while electricity, sanitation and security facilities are being provided free of cost. All allotments were made through transparent voting.
