​Markets Rally as KSE-100 Closes Near 168,520 Points

KARACHI – April 15, 2026: It was a banner day for investors at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), as the benchmark KSE-100 index experienced a monumental surge, closing with a significant gain of 2,885.10 points, which translates to a robust increase of 1.74%.

​The trading session started on an incredibly strong note. The market opened at 169,403.08, immediately signaling a bullish trend that persisted throughout the day. Investors were eager, with the index quickly soaring to its intraday high of 170,640.26. This peak represents a massive vote of confidence from the trading community, fueled by positive economic indicators and a general wave of optimism that swept across the trading floor.

​Although there was some natural consolidation towards the close, the market demonstrated remarkable resilience. Even at its lowest point of the day, 168,182.98, the index remained far above the previous day’s closing level. Ultimately, the KSE-100 index settled at a final closing value of 168,519.94. This strong closing figure is a testament to the sustained buying pressure and the positive market sentiment that dominated the session.

​Market participation was exceptionally high, with trading volume for the KSE-100 index constituents alone reaching an impressive 600.69 million shares. This level of activity underscores the depth of interest from both institutional and retail investors, all looking to capitalize on the market’s upward momentum.

​When looking at the broader picture, the market’s performance continues to tell an interesting story. The Fiscal Year to Date (FYTD) performance now stands at a very healthy 34.14%, reflecting a period of significant growth. However, the Calendar Year to Date (CYTD) performance remains slightly in the red at -3.18%, providing a clear picture of the market’s trajectory over different timeframes.
