Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League- President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that accountability of those who brought destruction to the country is necessary. He said that the founder of PTI is not the only culprit, but those who brought it are also equally responsible.

In a conversation with the newly elected members of the assembly, Nawaz Sharif said that the by-elections have once again proven that the people prefer performance, not hatred and chaos. According to him, the responsibility for the economic and moral decline that the country faced from 2018 to 2022 lies with the previous government.

While congratulating Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz on their resounding victory in the by-elections, he said that thanks to the steps taken by the current government, inflation has significantly reduced and development work has resumed.

Nawaz Sharif said that during the previous government, foreign policy was destroyed, violation of merit was common, instability was created in state institutions, and the country reached the brink of bankruptcy. He said that the PML-N not only controlled the economic crisis but also saved the country from moral and social chaos.

He further said that 120,000 houses for the poor in Punjab, free treatment, better hospitals, green buses and improvement in law and order are prominent steps of the current government. According to him, if the continuity of development had not stopped, Pakistan’s position would have been different on the global stage today.

Maryam Nawaz said in her address that the PML-N has never left the political arena empty; it has faced every challenge despite difficulties. She congratulated the workers and said, “Those who call us hereditary politicians have today brought families into politics themselves; the people have all recognized us.”

She said that in the past era, politics was made into personal enmity, jails were filled with opponents and development projects were zero. “Today, everyone knows in which corner of history those people are lost.”

Maryam Nawaz said that we have learned to serve from Nawaz Sharif and today she is happily saying that Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have come a long way in performance.
