TEHRAN – Highlighting the need for a shift from confrontation to diplomacy, the Iranian President has criticised recent signals from US authorities as “unconstructive” and “bitter”. The President reiterated that while Iran is open to dialogue, it will not negotiate under the shadow of threats.

The President pointed out that the logic of any meaningful engagement rests on the fulfillment of commitments. He made it clear that Iran’s refusal to surrender to pressure is a principled stance based on the protection of its national interests.

Key Highlights of the Address:

  • Reconstruction Priority: A call for an immediate end to “war-like conditions” to allow Iran to focus on domestic rebuilding.
  • Diplomatic Channels: Emphasis on using diplomatic routes to resolve the long-standing impasse with the West.
  • Public Trust: A stern reminder to the administration to keep the public informed with facts rather than rhetoric.

“Successes and challenges must be shared honestly with our citizens,” the President remarked, adding that misleading the public would only lead to a breakdown in the social contract. The address signals a dual approach: a readiness for peace alongside a firm refusal to accept a subordinate position in international affairs.
