Important meeting of 4 countries including Pakistan to reduce Iran-US tension

Islamabad: In the context of increasing tension in the region, Pakistan has taken an important diplomatic step and played an active role in reducing the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US.

A high-level meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was attended by the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt, where detailed consultations were held on establishing peace and stability in the region. During the meeting, various proposals were considered to reduce Iran-US tension, which were later finalized.

According to sources, the meeting emphasized that the rising tension could pose a threat not only to the Middle East but also to global peace, hence immediate diplomatic steps are essential.

Later, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, National Security Advisor Lieutenant General Asim Malik and Tariq Fatemi were also present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s strong relations with the Saudi leadership and expressed his best wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Prime Minister said on the occasion that Pakistan is making continuous diplomatic efforts to establish peace in the region, including efforts to bring Iran and the US to the negotiating table.

The two countries agreed to continue close cooperation for peace and stability in the region.
