Lahore: Following a dangerous situation arising from monsoon rains in different parts of the country, the Meteorological Department has further predicted a new wave, which may experience severe weather in Punjab and several other areas from July 20 to July 25.

According to details, heavy rains, contaminated storms, and flash floods have been reported during the fourth wave of monsoon. The Meteorological Department said that in most districts of Punjab, there is a risk of water filling, river drains, loss of life, and financial losses in the lower areas.

Rescue sources said seven more people have been killed in recent rains, while more than 180 citizens have been shifted to safer places.
According to the PDMA, high-level floods have been recorded at Kala Bagh and Chashma places in the Indus River, which has increased the risk of entering the surrounding areas.

The Punjab government has given a high alert to all the districts in view of the seriousness of the situation, and all relevant institutions, including deputy commissioners, Rescue 1122, health, agriculture, irrigation, and livestock, have been directed to speed up emergency operations on an emergency basis.

Rescue teams are still busy evacuating people under rubble and citizens trapped in water in several areas, while the government has appealed to the citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and live in safe places.
