Lahore: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that defense institutions were targeted for personal political interests in the country, which damaged national unity and state structure.

Addressing a function in Lahore, he said that hatred and negative thinking against Nawaz Sharif were created in the minds of the new generation under a systematic campaign. According to him, this act was not just political opposition but part of a well-thought-out plan.

The Federal Minister said that mistrust and economic destruction were promoted in the country through the pleasant slogans of change. He claimed that no party other than the PTI has written a letter against Pakistan to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Attaullah Tarar said that no one in the country’s politics has ever expressed a desire to harm the economy or incite overseas Pakistanis to raise slogans against the country.

He alleged that the PTI promoted the politics of hatred, division and character assassination and pushed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa towards decline instead of development in 12 years.

The federal minister said that the major industries and infrastructure projects established from Karachi to Peshawar bear the stamp of Nawaz Sharif’s rule. According to him, today even international institutions are acknowledging that Pakistan’s economy is moving towards improvement.

He added that Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif always preferred the politics of tolerance and service, while the current government is moving towards economic stability under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
