Islamabad: Barrister Aqeel Malik has said that attempts to subject the Constitution to personal likes and dislikes will prove to be a dangerous tradition. He said that the Constitution is not a figment of the imagination that anyone can bend according to their political needs.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Aqeel Malik said that recent decisions in the country’s political and legal history are raising many questions. He said that the Supreme Court’s decision on reserved seats has further increased legal complications.

Earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, while speaking at a news conference, said that after the recent Supreme Court decision, members elected on reserved seats will now be considered part of the Sunni Ittehad Council.

Barrister Gohar said that this is the first time in Pakistan’s judicial history that the decision of a 13-member full court bench was overturned by a decision of only seven judges. According to him, this process is a question mark on justice and legal principles.
