An important meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held at the office of the Meteorological Department, Karachi, which was chaired by the chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Officials of the Meteorological Department, Suparco and the Ministry of Religious Affairs also attended the meeting, while meetings of the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees were held at their designated locations across the country.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said that credible evidence of moon sighting was received from different parts of Pakistan, after which the sighting of the Zul Hijjah moon was announced. He said that the information was clear in most parts of the country, due to which the moon was clearly seen.

According to the chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the first of Dhul-Hijjah will be on Monday, May 18, while Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on May 27. He appealed to the public to pay special attention to cleanliness and precautions on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, along with performing Sunnah Ibrahimi.

On the other hand, the sighting of the Dhul-Hijjah moon has also been confirmed in Saudi Arabia. According to Saudi officials, the Day of Arafah will be on May 26, while Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated in Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, on May 27. After this announcement, preparations for Eid-ul-Adha have begun among Muslims around the world.

In Pakistan, the rush of buyers has started increasing in cattle markets on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, while business activities are also being seen at a fast pace. Citizens are busy purchasing sacrificial animals, cleaning houses and making other preparations for Eid.

According to experts, Eid being on the same day in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia this year will also promote Hajj-related arrangements and global Islamic harmony. Religious circles have thanked Allah Almighty for the announcement of the moon sighting and have appealed for special prayers for the unity, peace and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah.

The government has issued instructions to the relevant institutions to improve security, cleanliness and traffic arrangements during Eid-ul-Adha so that citizens do not face any difficulties.
