Lahore: The Punjab government has launched a green e-tax program under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to empower the youth and make the transport system in the province modern, environmentally friendly, and cheap.

In the first phase of the program, 1,100 electric e-bikes will be provided with the help of Diwan Motors on easy installments without interest so that young people from different classes can benefit from it. The program includes VC20 and VC30 models whose battery range is 200 and 300 km per charge, respectively.

These modern vehicles will be fully electric, which will help reduce air and sound pollution in cities. Charging stations are being set up every three kilometers in Lahore, which will be expanded all over Punjab later.

The program is also specifically incorporating women, disabled people, and rural youths to provide equal opportunities to all.

So far, more than 60,000 applications have been received for the scheme, which is clear evidence of its popularity and need.

The program will not only provide young people with self-employment opportunities but will also promote the economy and also create thousands of new jobs, including vehicle care, charging stations, and driving services.
