The Prime Minister said that the government has promoted a merit and performance culture in the FBR, as a result of which a significant improvement has been seen in the performance of the institution.

He said that the automated clearance system at ports helped in eliminating corruption and made the business environment more transparent.

According to Shahbaz Sharif, the increase in the point of sale network played a significant role in preventing sales tax evasion, while the increase in tax revenue by Rs9 billion is a clear sign of the success of the government’s policies.

He added that the process of modernizing the FBR system is ongoing so that the country’s economy can be built on stronger foundations.
