Islamabad Shuts Down Earlier: New 8 PM Deadline for Markets and Gyms
Lahore – If you live in the capital, you might need to finish your errands a bit earlier. The Islamabad Deputy Commissioner’s office has officially updated the city’s business hours to help conserve energy.
According to the new notification effective from April 16, 2026, the city is moving toward a stricter schedule. While a previous order was already in place, these new “partial modifications” make it clear that almost everyone is affected.
The New Schedule at a Glance:
- General Markets & Malls: Must close by 8:00 PM every day.
- Gyms & Sports Clubs: Now required to shut down by 8:00 PM.
- Bakeries: Given a small extension until 10:00 PM.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon stated that these rules apply throughout the week. Shopkeepers and citizens are urged to follow these timings to avoid legal action.
