Islamabad: The Ministry of Industries and Production has denied the news circulating in the market that a temporary ban has been decided on for the export of mutton and beef. According to the ministry, the proposal for an export ban is not under consideration at the federal level, and they have not received any such valid proposal from the provincial level yet.

Special Assistant on Industries Haroon Akhtar mentioned the ongoing efforts to increase exports and said that the government is in favour of increasing meat exports, not banning them. The ministry also held a meeting where the problems of export institutions were discussed.

Sources say that there was some discussion at the provincial level in Lahore under the proposal to provide cheap meat to the public, which led to a misunderstanding that the federal government was going to stop exports. The ministry has clarified that such a strategy is not approved by the federation.
