A 20-kg bag of wheat flour became expensive by Rs 140, while chicken became expensive by 3.6 percent, garlic by 2.3 percent, LPG by 1.4 percent and sugar by 1.2 percent.  Meanwhile, eggs, broken basmati rice and fresh milk are also included in the inflation.

The report also states that the public got some relief as the prices of high-speed diesel, per unit price of electricity, dal mash and dal mung decreased.

Analysts say that despite the increase in the prices of vegetables and basic commodities, the impact of inflation has been partially reduced due to the reduction in some essential items, but cost pressure for consumers persists.
