US Dollar Rate in Pakistan Today

Karachi – The Pakistani Rupee maintained a steady posture against the US Dollar on Wednesday, trading at Rs 277.65 for buying and Rs 278.15 for selling in the interbank market, while currency exchanges quoted open market rates around Rs 279.50 and Rs 281.20 respectively.

Financial analysts note that maintaining a tight margin between official and retail rates remains critical for anchoring inflation, particularly given the country’s heavy dependence on imported energy and raw industrial materials.

Beyond domestic price stability, exchange rate predictability continues to bolster official remittance inflows from overseas Pakistanis—who remain the economy’s primary financial buffer—by discouraging the use of informal transfer channels and encouraging long-term investments in real estate and government debt securities.
