Karachi – The UAE Dirham maintained its firm stance throughout the day, closing with significant activity in the retail sector. The open market ended with the AED at a buying rate of Rs. 76.20 and a selling rate of Rs. 77.30.
The stability of the Dirham at the close of the business day is essential for Pakistan’s regional commerce. Since Dubai serves as a major logistical link for Pakistani businesses, a consistent exchange rate allows for smoother re-export activities. This reliability is also a positive signal for investors from the Gulf, as it minimises the currency risk associated with short-term capital ventures into the Pakistani market.
