Karachi: Overseas Pakistanis sent $3.66 billion in remittances to Pakistan in August, taking the total remittances in the first two months of the current fiscal year to $7.28 billion.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, remittances in August were significantly higher than the same month last year. Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of Pakistani remittances, receiving $873.5 million.
$749.8 million was transferred to Pakistan from the United Arab Emirates, $563.7 million from the United Kingdom, and $308.9 million from the United States.
According to central bank data, the inflow of funds from overseas Pakistanis continued to increase despite the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
