Islamabad: The government has made a new change in the prices of petroleum products. The price of petrol has been reduced, while the price of high-speed diesel has been increased.
Petrol has become 3 rupees 13 paise per litre cheaper. The new price has been fixed at 345 rupees 87 paise per litre.
On the other hand, high-speed diesel has become 3 rupees 74 paise per litre expensive. The new price of diesel will be 378 rupees 05 paise per litre.
According to the Ministry of Petroleum, the new prices will be effective from September 5 to September 7, 2026.
This decision comes at a time when petroleum prices in the country are being changed on a daily basis according to the global market situation. Petrol and diesel prices have been continuously changing during the current week.
The new petrol price cut will provide minor relief to car and motorcycle users. However, the increase in diesel prices may increase pressure on transport and freight costs.
The government will determine future prices by keeping in mind the global oil market and other relevant factors.
