Lahore: The federal government has made minor changes in the prices of petroleum products, under which the price of petrol has increased while the price of diesel has been reduced. After the announcement of the new prices, the prices of both fuels have changed in different directions.
According to the announcement, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 1.20 per litre, while high-speed diesel has been made cheaper by 19 paise per litre.
The increase in petrol price may increase the fuel costs of consumers using motorcycles and private vehicles. On the other hand, a slight reduction in the price of diesel may provide limited relief for the transport and freight sectors.
The change in the prices of petroleum products has an impact on the general consumer as well as on business activities and travel expenses. However, the real impact of this change on the prices of essential commodities will depend on the changes in transport fares and other costs.
