ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Monday revised the retail rates of petroleum products, approving a marginal increase in the price of petrol alongside a reduction in high-speed diesel (HSD) rates.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been increased by 88 paisas per litre, while the rate of high-speed diesel has been slashed by Rs1.88 per litre.
Following the latest adjustment, petrol will now retail at Rs393.64 per litre, up from its previous level. On the other hand, high-speed diesel will cost Rs397.76 per litre.
The revised fuel prices will take effect from midnight tonight and remain applicable for October 6.
The price adjustments reflect ongoing shifts in international oil market dynamics and import parity pricing parameters. High-speed diesel is predominantly utilized by the transport sector and heavy agricultural machinery, while motor gasoline (petrol) is largely consumed by private commuters and two-wheeler traffic.
