Karachi: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan has taken a major step towards the sale of sugar and has issued tender documents for buyers across the country. The entire stock of sugar is available in Pipri Warehouses in Karachi, from where it will be released in the market through auction.
According to TCP, the last date for submission of bids has been fixed as December 3, 2025 at 12:15 PM, while the open procedure of all bids will be held at the head office in Karachi at 12:45 PM.
The tenders will be available at the regional offices of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, while purchasing the tender documents has been made mandatory to participate in the auction. The agency has also clarified that each bid will be evaluated on its merits and the board has the power to accept or reject any offer.
According to analysts, the government’s move to release sugar stocks to the market is an important economic step.
According to experts, this auction can increase supply in the country as well as reduce the trend of unnecessary hoarding, which is likely to bring down prices.
