Lahore: Another bad news has come out for consumers, as LPG prices have been increased recently. According to Chairman LPG Association Irfan Khokhar, after the new rate, LPG has reached Rs 209 per kg, while domestic cylinder is being sold at Rs 2,466 with an increase of Rs 87.

According to the chairman, LPG was earlier available in the market at Rs 202 per kg, but after the price increase, these rates have been changed across the country. Similarly, commercial cylinders are also available at Rs 9,488, which is significantly higher than the previous rate.

Irfan Khokhar strongly criticized the black marketing of last month and said that the consumers suffered a lot and the official price was nowhere to be seen. He said that the real problem is not the shopkeepers but the powerful groups who control the system and the government has failed to stop them.

An energy expert said that the repeated increase in LPG prices is an indication that there are serious problems in the supply chain. According to him, if the government improves storage and monitoring of terminals, consumers can get relief.
