Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has finalized the names for the opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly. According to party sources, the five names have been sent to founding chairman Imran Khan, who will decide after consultation in the next meeting.
The names suggested by the political committee include Moin Riaz Qureshi, Ali Imtiaz Warraich, Ijaz Shafi, Sheikh Imtiaz and Rana Shahbaz. According to sources, Imran Khan will announce one candidate for the opposition leader after consulting his lawyers or family.
The PTI leadership says that the election of an opposition leader will give the party more effective representation in the assembly and provide an opportunity to adopt a better strategy against government policies.
