LAHORE: Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar has said that no new constitutional amendment proposal is under consideration at the moment, and any such amendment in the future will be brought in consultation with all the coalition parties. Talking to the media in Lahore, he said the 26th amendment was made for institutional reforms, and there was no immediate need for any further amendment after that.
Azam Tarar said that the cases are being decided faster with the formation of constitutional benches. He said that some people are alleging that the law is being violated, although everything is clear and in public view.
Pointing out that there is a double standard in the judicial system, the federal minister said that in our time, former prime ministers used to appear in the courts, but their vehicles could not go inside, while today flag vehicles go inside and speeches are also made.
Emphasizing the supremacy of the law, he said that if someone burns police vehicles or attacks military installations, he cannot be garlanded.
