Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar Denies Plans to File Reference Against Judges

Islamabad: Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar clarified during a media briefing at Parliament House that the government has no plans to file references against judges, dismissing speculations sparked by Rana Sanaullah’s recent remarks.

Azam Nazeer Tarar stated that while Sanaullah had pointed out perceived judicial misconduct, he did not call for any formal reference, and the government has not taken any such decision. The Minister assured that if such a step is considered in the future, it will be communicated transparently.

He also highlighted the Chief Justice of Pakistan’s role in leading the Law and Justice Commission and initiatives like the Rule of Law Program, emphasizing the judiciary’s commitment to upholding legal standards.
